The Iowa City Public Art Advisory Committee will once again fund its Matching Grant Program, matching up to $2,000 for public art projects in 2018 and 2019.
The first deadline for proposals is Friday, Oct. 19.
The Committee will consider visual, audio or performance-based art. Examples include sculptures, murals, performances, readings, interactive exhibits, video productions, soundscapes, spoken word and other mediums.
Eligible project proposals must be publicly accessible and viewable within Iowa City city limits. Art can be displayed or performed on private property with the property owner’s permission.
The application and call to artists, which includes additional information on selection criteria, submission requirements, eligible expenses and other conditions for the program, are available online at www.icgov.org/publicart.
Proposals for the first round of funding are due by 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 19, and the second round deadline is 5 p.m., Friday, March 22.
Applications can be submitted online or emailed to Public Art Coordinator Marcia Bollinger at firstname.lastname@example.org. Final selections will be determined by the Public Art Advisory Committee.
