Attn: Beneficiary, Firstly we introduce this commission, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission – EFCC, we fight cyber crime, Internet fraud scam, and money laundering in Africa, Our commission has been in existence since 2003 and our duty is to stop internet fraud. Be informed that All relevant documentation to make the withdrawal of this compensation fund legal and free from any breach of the law has been made possible by the Federal Government of Nigeria and the United Nations. Visit their website and look for a phone number or email address. Search for the website yourself. Do not assume the details in the email are valid.
- Confirm using the information you have found
Using the details you have researched, call or email the business and ask them to verify the information within the email.
- Check if the email has been sent to multiple people
Google snippets of the email text to see if the same format has been used in the past. eg “Army officer from Syria but now living with the United Nations on asylum”
