Drugs Scam
Consumers often go online looking for cheap prescription medication, particularly when healthcare is privatized and they are attempting to source cheap alternatives. This in itself is an unfortunate circumstance of the world we live in and not the fault of the person buying the medication.
We also realize that many people attempt to purchase illegal drugs online. We are not the police, the only thing we care about is that criminals are using personal circumstances to defraud consumers!
The scams for drugs and pharmaceutical websites work in exactly the same way. A criminal will setup hundreds of websites selling an array of products. They will encourage the purchaser to make a payment using an anonymous payment method. Often in online drug scams the criminal will say something similar to; “due to the nature of our business, it is important that the payment method is anonymous.”
Once this initial advance-fee is paid, the criminal will now charge the victim for an array of shipping fees, customs clearances and even blackmail by assuming the identity of law enforcement. To aid this process, the criminal will create a fake shipping website or even spoof law enforcement domains. Examples of fake shipping websites can be viewed here.
